Laser Hair Removal

What’s laser hair removal?

This is a process of removing unwanted hair by exposing to pulses of laser and destroying the hair follicle. It came to the consumer market in the mid 90s after thorough experimentation for about 20 years prior to it. Today, it is approved by Health Canada and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for permanent hair reduction.

Why laser hair removal?

Shaving takes time and causes irritation and nicks and a repeated task. Waxing, on the other hand, gives a bit of a break from the shaving routine, but makes you go through a painful experience. They are both temporary solutions to a permanent problem. Laser hair removal is the ultimate solution to permanent hair removal. The laser pules destroy the hair follicles and hair is never to be seen growing. If you're sensitive to waxing, shaving or depilating, it's worth looking in to. This is what we do at Centrepointe Laser Clinic and have been just doing this since 2006.

So, what is Syneron Comet Laser System?

The Syneron Comet is a safe and effective system for hair removal and it can handle virtually any hair color or skin type. This system can remove virtually all colors of hair, including white, blond, red, gray, brown and black, plus it can be used on any skin type or color. And with its effective skin cooling system our patients will barely feel a thing. In the rare case of not able to use laser to remove the hair due to skin tone and hair color, electrolysis can be used.

But, how does this compare with other hair removal techniques like electrolysis?

Electrolysis has been around for more than 100 years and it is compatible with all hair types and skin tones. However, recent studies reveal laser hair removal is faster and less painful. If you are not a good candidate for laser, then electrolysis may be the right choice for you.

So, how many sessions will it take?

The number of sessions depends on the type of hair, body site and quality of the laser technology. The average is 6-8 treatments but it could take more to reach a 80-100% reduction dependent on your hair and skin tone. If you're looking to do a larger part of your body, you may also need to get it done in sections. Don't forget you will need some downtime in between each session, usually a couple of weeks so ask our technicians on how long you should wait.

Sounds great. But, what about side effects?

The side effects really depend on your skin and how it will react to the treatment. Knowing what you are doing helps! We will create a personalized profile for you and our licensed technicians will determine your hair color and skin type and recommend the right choice of treatment.

How is your laser hair removal prices compared to the competitors?

Our laser hair removal prices range in the medium to high scale. Others offer low prices to attract the clients, but it will end up costing you more in the long run as it will take much more treatments to see some significant results. Our laser machine, comet elos is a high powered machine which requires less number treatments thus you will see the results right away if not within some treatments.

Results

See the laser hair removal difference! After every session, the hair follicles lose the ability to generate new hair and the surface area of the skin becomes hairless leading it to the ultimate permanent hair removal.
